The Warrior Cries

The warrior cries at night,
When he thinks about the past,
Of friend who lie forgotten,
And loves not meant to last.

The warrior cries at night,
When he thinks he is alone.
Remembering the many battles,
And all the pain he’s sown.

The warrior cries at night,
And bleeds from open wounds,
With darkness fading quickly,
And the dawn comes all too soon.

The warrior cries at night,
And sees the dead man’s eyes.
Soul stripped bare and open,
He’s nowhere left to hide.
